Fusion Youth & Community UK Invite you to take part in 12 days of
Training, Mission and Pilgrimage that could help
transform the UK
and prepare you for your future!

Here's what some of our 2012 Pilgrims said about their experience:

"A real journey of discovery of who you are, who you want to be and who you can be"

"A spiritual journey discovering how the ancients put Jesus in the centre and lived in missional
community and changed their world - and how that applies to me (or us) today"

"An experience that took me on a journey into every part
of my being and where God revealed to me the true meaning of awesome
through his creation, community, challenges and celebration of life"

"A time to reflect and for me to really listen to what God has to say
in the context of learning and journeying the paths of past Christians
who listened to God's call and stepped out in faith"

THE 12 DAY ANNUAL BRITISH PILGRIMAGE OF HOPE INCLUDES:

3 Day School of Mission

Practical training in skills & underpinning
knowledge for effective local

1-dsc_0378.jpgA chance to walk in the footsteps of some of the heroes of our faith. We'll spend a day in London with Wilberforce, Wesley, Shaftesbury; then travel up to Iona to walk the pebbled beach where St Columba began his ministry; we'll follow St Aidan to Lindisfarne and as our journey ends, we'll embark on the pilgrimage of the rest of our lives taking with us the treasures of our 12 days.

We’ll then spend 5 days of Pilgrimage where we will explore Christian heroes of the past who helped bring Christianity to Britain and Europe. We’ll visit Iona and stand where the first Celtic monks brought Christianity to Scotland. Then we will travel to Lindisfarne to see the sacrifices the early Christians made to bring their message of love and hope to England and on into Europe.

Finally we’ll regroup at our accomodation in Berwick-upon-Tweed to share what the experience has meant for each of us before departing back to home.

A journey of discovery & celebration

After settling into accommodation in London we’ll start with three days of mission & festivals training. We'll also be visiting some sights in London looking at the likes of Wilberforce, the Wesleys, William Booth, Shaftsbury and others who showed their love for God and others through sacrificial service. We will then embark on 3 days of mission doing community festivals & youth work across the UK.

We will then have a day off before a further 3 days of mission in a new location.
After regrouping in Dunoon, Scotland, we’ll spend 5 days of Pilgrimage where we will explore Christian heroes of the past who helped bring Christianity to Britain and Europe. We’ll visit Iona, the birth place of Christianity in the UK to stand where the first Celtic monks brought Christianity to England. Then we will travel to Lindisfarne to see the sacrifices the early Christians made to bring their message of love and hope. Finally we’ll visit Durham to see how Christianity spread across the UK and gather together to share what the experience has meant for each of us.

A time to find yourself as you love and serve

tow.jpgThroughout the Pilgrimage, we’ll be supporting people around the UK that are reaching out to their local communities through Open Crowd Festivals, youth cafes and more.
For some of the time we will split into smaller ‘mission teams’ and work in two or more communities across a six day period.
Overall you will receive significant training and mission experience in festival and youth outreach across several areas of the UK. It will be your chance to walk in the footsteps of the nation’s heroes and put yourself aside for the sake of others - returning home more equipped to bring hope and purpose to your own community.
